Emirates to Launch Daily Flights to Bogotá, Expanding South American Network
Emirates has announced plans to introduce daily services from Dubai to Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, starting from June 3. This new route will mark the airline’s fourth gateway in South America, following its successful operations in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires.
The new daily flights will be operated via Miami, making Emirates the first airline to offer premium services on this route between south Florida and Colombia. Passengers can expect top-notch amenities, including lie-flat seats in First Class and Business Class, complimentary dining, and extensive in-flight entertainment.
Emirates’ entry into Bogotá is expected to enhance connectivity between Colombia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as other destinations worldwide. With the launch of this service, Emirates’ network will expand to 19 points across the Americas, strengthening its position as a leading global carrier.
President of Emirates Airline, Sir Tim Clark, expressed the airline’s excitement about serving Colombia and emphasized the commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences.
He highlighted the strategic importance of Bogotá as a dynamic capital and noted the significant demand for travel between Colombia and Dubai.
The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft deployed on the Bogotá route will offer 354 seats across three cabins, ensuring passengers enjoy unparalleled comfort and luxury throughout their journey. Additionally, the new service will provide ample cargo capacity, facilitating the export of Colombian goods to global markets.
This milestone launch has been welcomed by Colombian authorities, with Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism Germán Umaña Mendoza praising the initiative for enhancing connectivity and fostering economic growth.
Director General of Aerocivil Colombia, His Excellency Sergio París Mendoza, also lauded the new air link, emphasizing its role in strengthening international relations and promoting collaboration.
The inauguration of Emirates’ services to Bogotá signifies a significant step forward in expanding global connectivity and stimulating tourism and trade between Colombia and the UAE.
