Palestine Applauds Zambia’s Education Reforms, Seeks STEM Collaboration
The Government of Palestine has praised Zambia for its progressive measures in the education sector, describing the country’s initiatives as a model of success and innovation.
During a courtesy call on the Minister of Education, Hon. Douglas Syakalima, the Ambassador of Palestine to Zambia, His Excellency Mr. Eleyan Keswani, expressed admiration for Zambia’s achievements over recent years.
He highlighted Palestine’s interest in fostering cooperation through high-level educational exchange visits and promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects in partnership with Zambia.
“This is the first time Palestine has initiated engagements with Zambia in the education sector, inspired by the remarkable progress we have witnessed,” Ambassador Keswani said.
In response, Hon. Syakalima underscored education as a key instrument for international diplomacy and collaboration. He reaffirmed the Zambian Government’s commitment, under President Hakainde Hichilema, to invest heavily in education, beginning with early childhood learning.
“As a government, we are investing in early childhood education so that children understand the world and are able to engage in meaningful international diplomacy,” the Minister stated.
Hon. Syakalima welcomed Palestine’s initiative, noting that Zambia has implemented several progressive policies over the past four years, including the introduction of free education.
