Zambian Ambassador Presents Credentials to King of Bahrain, Strengthens Bilateral Ties
On August 13, 2024, His Excellency Mr. Duncan Mulima, Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with extra-accreditation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, at Al-Sakhir Palace in Manama.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Mulima conveyed warm greetings from President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia and expressed gratitude for Bahrain’s ongoing support in international forums.
He reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Bahrain.
King Hamad warmly welcomed Ambassador Mulima and expressed appreciation for Zambia’s diplomatic efforts. He reaffirmed Bahrain’s dedication to strengthening cooperation in trade and investment, energy and mining, education, cultural exchange, and tourism.
The King also extended his personal greetings to President Hichilema, wishing him continued success and good health.
This event marks a significant advancement in Zambia-Bahrain relations, heralding a new era of collaboration between the two nations. Following the credential presentation, Ambassador Mulima engaged in productive bilateral meetings with key Bahraini officials.
Discussions were held with His Excellency Mr. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture, focusing on agriculture, municipal development, and water resource management.
Meetings with Mr. Khalid Al Moayed, Chairperson of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Ali Yusuf Al Aradi, Chief Banking Officer at Bahrain Development Bank, explored opportunities in trade, investment, development finance, and entrepreneurship support.
These engagements highlight Bahrain’s role as a crucial partner for Zambia, offering avenues for increased cooperation and mutual benefits.
