Emirates Expands Aircraft Refurbishment Program, Adding More A380s and B777s
Emirates has announced a major upgrade to its aircraft refurbishment program, expanding it to encompass a total of 191 airplanes, highlighting its dedication to offering passengers a consistently excellent travel experience.
Previously, the program aimed to refurbish 120 aircraft, including 67 A380s and 53 Boeing 777s. Now, an additional 43 A380s and 28 Boeing 777s will be completely refreshed, ensuring a more modern flying experience for a wider range of passengers.
This expansion prioritizes passenger comfort and satisfaction. Refurbished cabins will boast cutting-edge features like the latest generation seats, updated finishes, and a contemporary color scheme across all classes – First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy.
The Boeing 777 upgrades are particularly noteworthy. These planes will receive a complete makeover, featuring brand new Business Class seats in a spacious 1-2-1 configuration.
Passengers can also look forward to the introduction of a dedicated Premium Economy cabin with 24 seats, offering an additional class option for travel. The First-Class cabin will also be refurbished, although specific details about these upgrades haven’t been revealed yet.
The refurbishment process is expected to begin in July 2024 with the first Boeing 777. Each aircraft will take approximately two weeks to complete the refresh. Interestingly, the entire project will be managed and executed in-house by Emirates’ dedicated Engineering Centre, showcasing the airline’s technical expertise.
Emirates has already refurbished 22 A380s, and some of these planes are currently flying routes to popular destinations like New York, London, Sydney, and Singapore.
With the program expansion, passengers can expect to see the upgraded A380s and B777s serving even more destinations by February 2025, including the introduction of the Airbus A350 to the Emirates fleet.
This comprehensive refurbishment plan guarantees that a significant portion of Emirates’ fleet will offer passengers a modern and comfortable travel experience well into the mid-2030s.
