Over 20 Egyptian Companies Set to Invest in Muchinga Province
Muchinga Province in Zambia is poised to welcome investment from over 20 companies based in Egypt, signaling a potential boost in various sectors.
Henry Sikazwe, the Minister of Muchinga Province, revealed that these companies have expressed serious interest and are prepared to move forward once modalities are finalized.
The Arab Contractors Company is among the entities ready to assess potential investment areas in Muchinga Province during a visit scheduled for February.
Other companies, such as Arma Oil Factory and Fresh, have indicated interest in investing in agriculture, tourism, mining, and other sectors.
Sikazwe expressed optimism about achieving the province’s goals before the Muchinga Investment and Exposition, which is slated for September to October.
He thanked the team that accompanied him to Egypt, emphasizing that their efforts had not been in vain.
Mataa Kamenda, the Assistant Director of Muchinga Province, expressed optimism about the province’s development with the arrival of these companies.
He highlighted the need to turn potential into reality and expected job opportunities for Muchinga residents once the companies are on the ground.
Sandra Maleya, the Investment and Exposing Coordinator for Muchinga Province, announced plans to follow up with the interested companies.
The province aims to receive the companies before the expo, signing Memoranda of Understanding during the event in various sectors.
The investment interest follows a delegation from Muchinga Province visiting Egypt on an invitation from the Egyptian government.
The delegation attended the Zambia-Egyptian Day, Second Edition, and engaged in meetings with various companies to garner support for investment in Muchinga Province.
