Ecobank Zambia Wins Top CSR and Responsible CEO Awards
Ecobank Zambia Limited has been recognised for its commitment to impact-driven corporate social responsibility at the 2026 CSR Network Zambia 7th Annual Conference and Awards, where the bank served as a Gold Sponsor.
Held from 18 to 19 February at the Radisson Blu Hotel, the conference brought together corporates and social enterprises to reflect on the effectiveness of CSR initiatives under the theme “Then What?”, challenging organisations to move beyond good intentions towards measurable and sustainable impact.
Through panel discussions and practical case study sessions, participants examined whether CSR programmes are addressing real community needs, delivering tangible outcomes and creating long-term empowerment. Ecobank Zambia actively participated in these discussions, reinforcing its approach to purpose-driven and accountable corporate responsibility.
During the awards ceremony on 20 February, Ecobank Zambia received two major honours. The bank was awarded Best Digital Inclusion Programme for its intervention at the UTH Special School, where it refurbished and repurposed the institution’s information technology laboratory.
The project equipped the facility with modern computers, ergonomic furniture and high-speed Starlink internet connectivity, creating an inclusive digital learning environment for pupils with special needs.
The initiative aims to reduce barriers to digital access while equipping learners with essential technological skills that enhance educational outcomes and future economic opportunities.
In addition, Ecobank Zambia’s Managing Director, Aina Wright Moore, was named Responsible CEO of the Year, in recognition of her leadership in embedding sustainability and social responsibility into the bank’s strategic priorities.
Under her leadership, the bank has implemented initiatives across education, health and community empowerment, positioning Ecobank Zambia not only as a financial institution but also as a catalyst for inclusive development.
Speaking after the awards, the bank reaffirmed its commitment to delivering meaningful and measurable impact, noting that the recognitions serve as motivation to deepen its contribution to the communities it serves.
Ecobank Zambia, part of the Ecobank Group, continues to advance purpose-led initiatives aligned with its vision of empowering communities and enabling progress across Zambia.
