ZDA, Luapula Chamber Business Clinic to Unlock Investment and Empower Local Enterprises
The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA), in partnership with the Luapula Chamber of Commerce and Trade, has conducted a Business Clinic aimed at strengthening local business capacity and unlocking investment opportunities in Luapula Province.
The initiative, held on the margins of the Luapula Province Investment Expo, brought together entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and key development stakeholders to support enterprise growth and improve investment readiness among local businesses.
Officially opening the clinic, ZDA Director General Mr Albert Halwampa emphasised the importance of collaboration between Government, the private sector, and cooperating partners in driving sustainable economic development.
He noted that the initiative reflects a shared commitment to empowering local businesses and accelerating economic growth across the province and the country at large.
“As ZDA, part of our mandate is to promote and facilitate local business development, thereby enhancing Zambia’s competitiveness. This includes promoting and facilitating both local and foreign investment,” Mr Halwampa said.
He further encouraged Zambian entrepreneurs to take advantage of the untapped investment potential in Luapula Province, calling for stronger collaboration among local businesses to build resilient and competitive enterprises.
Luapula Chamber of Commerce and Trade President, Mr Shone Mwelwa, commended ZDA for organising the Business Clinic, describing it as a timely initiative that provides practical support to local enterprises.
Meanwhile, Zambia Agribusiness and Trade Project (ZATP) Regional Facilitator Mr Abel Ngoma highlighted ongoing interventions aimed at strengthening agribusiness linkages, improving access to finance, and promoting growth in the agricultural sector.
The clinic also featured presentations from institutions including Shoprite Zambia, Agriculture Leasing Company Zambia Limited, and Zambia National Commercial Bank, which showcased financing solutions and business support services available to entrepreneurs.
Stakeholders said the initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote enterprise development, improve investment readiness, and foster a conducive environment for sustainable business growth in Zambia.
