Winners Honoured at 2025 AfBC African Business Awards in London
The African Business Chamber (AfBC) has announced the winners of the 2025 AfBC African Business Awards, celebrating exceptional leadership, innovation, and impact in African business. The prestigious awards ceremony took place at the Millennium Conference and Hotel Kensington, drawing dignitaries, diplomats, and business leaders from across the UK and Africa.
The awards recognized excellence across 14 categories, including finance, healthcare, technology, international trade, and social enterprise. Said Adren, CEO of Bank of Africa (BOA UK), emerged as a standout winner, securing both the Top 100 Business Leader of the Year award and the Business of the Year accolade for BOA UK.

- Prof. Rotimi Jaiyesimi, Mid and South Essex NHS – Healthcare Excellence Award
- Juliana Olayinka, Channels TV – Creative Industry Excellence Award
- Fungai Ndemera – Women in Business Excellence Award
The event welcomed a distinguished audience, with keynote remarks delivered by H.E. Johnston Busingye, High Commissioner of Rwanda to the UK. Other notable attendees included H.E. Macenje Mazoka (Zambia), H.E. Dineo Mathlako (South Africa), and several UK Members of Parliament.
Eleven individuals also received honorary and special recognition awards for their outstanding contributions to African business and community development. Honourees included Prof. Gibril Faal OBE, Dr. Justina Mutale, Sonny Iroche, Cllr Abigail Marshall Katung, and Edgar Chibaka.
In her closing remarks, Ruth Adams, Director at AfBC, thanked attendees and sponsors for supporting the Chamber’s mission to highlight African excellence. “Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. Your work is transforming lives and economies across the UK and Africa,” she said.
The evening also featured cultural performances and networking opportunities, reinforcing AfBC’s commitment to strengthening diaspora and African business ties. The Chamber announced two major upcoming events: the UK–Africa Business Forum 2025, scheduled for 24–25 September, and the 2026 AfBC Awards, set for 29 May 2026.
