SLB to Showcase Strategic Investments and Innovations at Invest in African Energy (IAE) 2025
SLB, a global leader in energy innovation and services, will highlight its ongoing investments and cutting-edge projects at the upcoming Invest in African Energy (IAE) Forum in Paris this May. Jean-Marc Kloss, Group Managing Director of West Africa at SLB, is set to present key insights on SLB’s evolving role in driving sustainable growth across Africa’s oil and gas sector.
At the forum, SLB will spotlight its significant projects in Angola, Libya, and Algeria. In Angola, the company is launching the Integrated Performance Excellence Center in Luanda, a facility aimed at supporting full life-cycle oil and gas projects.
This center will focus on boosting production efficiency, reducing losses, and maximizing economic recovery from developed fields. SLB’s commitment to Angola’s energy future will be on display as it integrates innovative solutions and local expertise to elevate the country’s energy capabilities.
In addition to its work in Angola, SLB will showcase its Lumi Platform, a new technology that supports upstream and midstream operations in Angola’s Kwanza Basin. The Lumi Platform has been integrated with a unified dataset covering 40,000 km², providing invaluable resources for upcoming licensing rounds.
SLB’s efforts extend to Libya, where the company has partnered with Waha Oil Company to increase production and develop local technical expertise. Through advanced reservoir studies, horizontal drilling techniques, and simulation analyses, SLB aims to add 100,000 barrels per day to Libya’s oil production.
In Algeria’s Berkine Basin and Hassi Messaoud, SLB is employing advanced technologies, including horizontal drilling, hydraulic fracturing, and enhanced oil recovery methods, to improve hydrocarbon recovery and extend the life of existing fields. These advancements align with Algeria’s efforts to boost production and export capacity.
Sandra Jeque, International Conference Director at Energy Capital & Power, emphasized that SLB’s projects exemplify the company’s dedication to leveraging innovation and partnerships to propel Africa’s energy sector forward.
The IAE 2025 forum offers a platform for industry leaders to collaborate and discuss the role of technology and partnerships in shaping the continent’s energy future.
