Emirates Inaugurates First Emirates World Store in Africa, Setting New Standards in Premium Travel Retail
Emirates has marked a significant milestone with the opening of its first Emirates World store in Africa, located in Nairobi’s ultra-modern Cube on Riverside Drive. This premium retail store is the airline’s inaugural introduction of its elevated store concept on the continent, with plans for more locations to open across Africa in the coming months.
The store was inaugurated by Adil Al Ghaith, Emirates’ Senior Vice President Commercial Operations, alongside Dr. Salim Alnaqbi, UAE Ambassador to Kenya, and other esteemed guests. Designed to deliver Emirates’ signature “Fly Better” experience, the Emirates World store provides Kenyan travelers with exclusive customer service through interactive technology and dedicated travel consultants.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the significance of this expansion, stating, “Our reimagined retail concept brings a unique experience to Africa, starting in Kenya, as we continue to elevate our customer service across new destinations. We’re excited to inspire more travelers to experience our products firsthand.”
The 330 m² store is designed in an open-plan, lounge-like layout, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for visitors. Featuring the iconic Emirates A380 Onboard Lounge and a selfie mirror for scenic travel snapshots, the store offers six service counters for travel planning, reservations, and ticketing, with Emirates consultants available to provide tailored itineraries and insight into Emirates Holidays packages.
This opening comes as Emirates approaches its 30th anniversary in Kenya, having flown over five million passengers on double daily flights to and from Nairobi since 1995. Emirates also actively supports Kenyan communities through the Emirates Airline Foundation, aiding three humanitarian organizations dedicated to child welfare.
