Egyptian Investors Set to Boost Zimbabwe’s Agriculture with New Fertiliser Manufacturing Plant

Egyptian investors are planning to open a fertiliser manufacturing plant in Zimbabwe, with the goal of enhancing the country’s agricultural and economic development. 

Dr. El Gabaly, representing a major Egyptian company, met with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga to discuss their vision for the project. 

The Egyptian company, which has an established presence in markets across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, aims to manufacture phosphate fertilisers in Zimbabwe in cooperation with the government. 

The initiative is seen as a strategic move to address gaps in the fertiliser manufacturing sector in Zimbabwe, with the potential to make the country a regional hub for phosphate fertilisers. 

This investment is expected to contribute to Zimbabwe’s broader economic development strategy, particularly in the agriculture sector, which is a key pillar of the nation’s economy. 

The delegation’s visit followed a meeting between Zimbabwean President Mnangagwa and his Egyptian counterpart President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, signaling strong relations between the two countries.
