Emirates Unveils Striking UAE Flag Livery on A380 in Tribute to National Unity
Emirates has unveiled a bold new livery featuring the UAE flag across its iconic Airbus A380 aircraft, in a powerful tribute to the nation’s unity, ambition and identity.
The design, displayed on aircraft A6-EVG, extends the airline’s signature tail fin and wraps a large, vibrant UAE flag across the fuselage in a striking 3D visual expression of national pride. The move reinforces Emirates’ long-standing tradition of showcasing the UAE flag across its global fleet.
The unveiling forms part of the airline’s “This Flag Will Always Fly” campaign, aligned with a nationwide initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, encouraging citizens and residents to raise the national flag as a symbol of unity and collective strength.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said the initiative reflects the airline’s deep-rooted connection to the nation.
“We’re proud to respond to HH Sheikh Mohammed’s call to raise the flag as a tribute to the UAE’s unity and strength,” he said. “Since our inception, every Emirates aircraft has proudly carried the UAE flag wherever it flies. This new livery is our way of honouring a home that has given us so much.”
He added that the aircraft serves as a flying symbol of national pride, stating that “there is no greater stage for our flag than in the skies.”
The specially designed aircraft has already operated flights to destinations including New York and Brisbane and is expected to appear on additional routes across the Emirates A380 network, making the UAE flag visible in major cities worldwide.
Emirates also confirmed plans to extend the design to a Boeing 777 aircraft, further expanding the visual tribute across its fleet.
The UAE flag has long been a defining feature of Emirates aircraft, appearing on the tail fins of one of the world’s most recognisable airline fleets. Over the years, the airline has also introduced special liveries to mark key national moments, including tributes to the late founding father of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the Expo 2020 Dubai campaign.
