Agriculture Ministry Targets Better FISP Implementation Through Communication Planning
The Ministry of Agriculture has launched a two-day Communication Plan Development workshop aimed at strengthening the implementation of the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) under the e-voucher system.
The workshop was officially opened by Director for Agribusiness and Marketing, Mrs Mweendalubi Moono Msoka, who emphasised the critical role of effective communication in ensuring agricultural programmes are well understood and accessible to all stakeholders.
Mrs Msoka said clear and coordinated communication is essential in linking farmers, agro-dealers, transporters, cooperatives, development partners and the public to the Ministry’s policies and initiatives.
She noted that a well-structured communication plan would enable the Ministry to deliver timely, accurate and impactful information that promotes awareness and builds trust.
She further stated that improved communication would strengthen transparency, enhance service delivery and support informed decision-making across the agricultural value chain.
According to Mrs Msoka, consistent and structured information sharing is key to driving productivity and inclusive growth within the sector.
The Director also commended communication experts and participants attending the workshop, noting that their expertise will be instrumental in developing a strategy that supports the transformation of Zambia’s agricultural sector.
She expressed appreciation to the Jobs Accelerator Project (JAP) for partnering with the Ministry in facilitating the workshop and supporting efforts to strengthen communication systems.
The workshop has brought together key stakeholders and communication professionals to develop a comprehensive strategy aimed at improving information flow, increasing programme awareness and supporting the effective implementation of the Farmer Input Support Programme.
