MultiChoice Talent Factory Opens Applications for 2026 Intake
Pan-African film and television training institution the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) has opened applications for its 2026 intake, offering fully funded training to aspiring African filmmakers and television professionals.
The programme is open to graduates from across Africa who wish to pursue careers in directing, filmmaking, scriptwriting, producing and storytelling. Following MultiChoice Group’s integration into CANAL+, the company says it has renewed its commitment to developing African talent and strengthening local storytelling for global audiences.
The 2026 intake features a nine-month, fully accredited programme that blends online learning with intensive in-person training. The curriculum is designed to balance theory with hands-on production experience. Training is delivered through MTF academies based in Kenya, Nigeria and Zambia, serving participants from 14 African countries.
Since its launch in 2018, MTF has trained 296 filmmakers, with graduates producing more than 42 films. During the programme, participants are required to develop and produce original movie projects, which are broadcast on DStv and GOtv channels, including Africa Magic, Maisha Magic and Zambezi Magic, as well as on the Showmax streaming platform.
MTF graduates have gone on to work across the MultiChoice ecosystem and the wider film and television industry. More than 50 production companies have been established by alumni, while many former students have received nominations and awards at major industry events such as the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, Kalasha Awards and Women in Film Awards.
Applications close on 27 February 2026. Visit https://apo-opa.co/3XW53oE to find out more about MTF programme requirements.
