Financial Literacy Week 2025 to Focus on the Power of Influencers
The 2025 Financial Literacy Week, set to commence on March 17th and run through to March 23rd, will spotlight the power of influencers under the theme, “Think Before You Follow, Safeguard Your Money.”
The theme resonates with the current landscape, where social media influence is rapidly gaining momentum across various sectors. This year’s focus aims to encourage financial consumers and investors to make well-informed decisions before engaging or following financial advice, especially in the digital space.
Economic analyst Kelvin Chisanga emphasized that the rise of “finfluencers”—financial influencers—and advancements in artificial intelligence have transformed the digital finance sector. As the financial market continues to grow, consumers must be vigilant and base their decisions on verified information to safeguard their money.
The initiative also seeks to reinforce the financial inclusion agenda, bringing together key stakeholders such as banks, insurance companies, capital markets players, NGOs, and regulatory bodies. Their collaboration aims to strengthen the foundation of financial literacy, with a particular focus on the digital environment.
“The digital space is expanding, and it is now crucial for consumers and investors to be conscious of the information they follow and the financial solutions they adopt,” Chisanga stated.
