The Ministry of Education is fully prepared to roll out the new school curriculum on Monday, February 10, 2025, with the launch aimed at early childhood, Grade 1, and Form 1 students, confirmed Permanent Secretary for Education Services, Mr. Joel Kamoko.

Speaking in Lusaka today, Mr. Kamoko assured the nation that the orientation of teachers has been smooth and successful, with the distribution of necessary materials on track for the big day.

He urged the public to remain calm, emphasizing that the Ministry has the entire process of implementing the new curriculum under control.

“We are confident that the piloting of the new curriculum has been done according to the laid-down procedures, and the results have been positive,” Mr. Kamoko said. “This success has paved the way for the full implementation of the curriculum, starting next week.”

The new curriculum rollout has been praised by stakeholders such as the National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ), who commended the Ministry’s efforts during a media engagement on January 9, 2025.

Additionally, Zambia Education Publishing House (ZEPH) Managing Director, Dr. Agnes Wilkins, confirmed that her organization is working diligently to ensure that all required materials will be distributed on time.

“We are confident that by February 10, 2025, all materials will be in place,” Dr. Wilkins stated.
