Economic Expert Disputes Radio Phoenix Misquote
Economic expert Kelvin Chisanga has expressed disappointment with Radio Phoenix, accusing the station of misquoting him during their morning news segment.
Mr. Chisanga, known for his neutral stance on Zambia’s economic matters, clarified that he is neither a supporter of the PF nor the UPND but a Zambian citizen focused on national economic interests.
In a statement, Mr. Chisanga revealed efforts to engage the station’s management and journalist Chileshe Mwango to correct the alleged misrepresentation. However, these attempts yielded no resolution, prompting him to temporarily sever ties with the station.
Mr. Chisanga urged media outlets to maintain ethical standards and prioritize accurate reporting, stressing that false narratives harm both individuals and the integrity of journalism.
He called for professionalism in the industry, emphasizing the media’s role in delivering truthful and impactful information.
“This incident highlights the need for well-trained journalists who uphold media principles and avoid twisting stories for temporary gains,” Mr. Chisanga stated. He remains committed to Zambia’s economic development and impartial analysis of governance issues.
