Zambia Strengthens Ties with Sweden in Energy, SMEs, and Climate Action
Zambia is bolstering its international partnerships as senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, led by Permanent Secretary Ms. Etambuyu Anamela Gundersen, and the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development, represented by Permanent Secretary Mrs. Subeta K. Mutelo, held strategic discussions with Swedish institutions.
These meetings are aimed at advancing Zambia’s priorities in energy security, SME development, and climate action.
Key highlights include a meeting with Hitachi Energy, focusing on sustainable solutions to Zambia’s energy challenges. This collaboration seeks to enhance the country’s energy resilience and support its economic growth.
Engagements with SIDA’s Africa Department explored leveraging Swedish resources and expertise to build a robust SME sector, pivotal for job creation and economic expansion in Zambia.
Discussions with SIDA Director General Jakob Granit centered on securing development financing for partnerships between Zambian businesses and government institutions, further strengthening Zambia-Sweden ties.
