Emirates and dnata Donate More Than 400 Repurposed Strollers to Support Children in Need
Emirates and dnata have donated more than 400 repurposed baby strollers to local non-profit organisations in the United Arab Emirates as part of a community support initiative aimed at assisting vulnerable children and families.
The initiative brought together Emirates Airport Services, Emirates Engineering, dnata4good and several charitable organisations to refurbish and distribute 430 strollers previously used at Dubai International Airport.
The strollers, instantly recognisable for their red Emirates branding, are normally provided free of charge to families travelling through Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport to help parents move comfortably through the airport with infants, toddlers, and children requiring accessible travel support.
In December 2025, Emirates introduced 1,000 new airport strollers and decided to repurpose 430 older units rather than discard them.
The airline’s engineering team refurbished the strollers at a dedicated repurposing workshop, making adjustments to branding and adding special tags made from recycled Business Class seat leather bearing the message: “Donated with love by Emirates.”
The initiative was then coordinated by dnata4good, an employee-led volunteer programme focused on community, environmental, and wellbeing projects.
The refurbished strollers were distributed to three Dubai-based non-profit organisations: Hope Amel UAE, Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs, and Al Noor Rehabilitation and Welfare Association for People of Determination.
Each organisation said the strollers would support different community needs, including assisting single mothers, helping children with special needs during outings and school activities, and providing emergency transport support for students.
Before distribution, the strollers underwent a full cleaning and sanitisation process to ensure they were safe and ready for use.
Hope Amel UAE, founded in 2020, supports struggling families across the UAE by providing essential items such as baby supplies and household necessities.
Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs offers specialised care, therapy, and life-skills development for children and young adults with disabilities, while Al Noor Rehabilitation and Welfare Association provides education, rehabilitation, and vocational training for people of determination.
