ZATEX 2025 to Showcase Zambian Tourism to the World, Empower SMEs
The Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA), in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Council of Zambia, has announced the Zambia Travel Expo (ZATEX) 2025 will take place from June 5 to 7, spotlighting Zambia’s rich tourism potential and creating global exposure for local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the sector.
ZTA Chief Executive Officer Matongo Matamwandi said the expo expects to attract over 1,500 participants, including 28 international hosted buyers from strategic markets such as the UK, Spain, Poland, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, and Zimbabwe.
These hosted buyers will engage in business-to-business (B2B) networking with 50 local tourism operators.
“ZATEX is our flagship event to reposition Zambia as a compelling tourism destination,” said Mr. Matamwandi. “This year’s theme, Sustainable Tourism: Driving Inclusive Growth, reinforces our commitment to tourism that benefits every stakeholder while boosting industry revenue.”
The three-day event will cater to both professionals and the public. The first two days are reserved for B2B and educational sessions, while the final day will be open to the public to encourage business-to-consumer (B2C) engagement and stimulate domestic tourism.
Mr. Matamwandi stressed that ZATEX 2025 is not just about promotion but about tangible economic impact and inclusion: “This year’s expo proves Zambia’s dedication to sustainable tourism and creating economic opportunities for all.”
Tourism operators, investors, marketers, and consumers are invited to participate in what promises to be Zambia’s most dynamic tourism marketing event yet.
