The cabin interiors reflect Emirates’ emphasis on delivering an elevated travel experience. Advanced seating configurations, enhanced entertainment options, and cutting-edge technologies ensure a comfortable journey for every passenger.
Speaking at the unveiling, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, emphasized the significance of this milestone:
“Today is an exciting milestone for Emirates as we showcase our first A350 and usher in a new era for our fleet and network growth. This aircraft sets the stage for Emirates to spread its wings farther by offering added range, efficiency, and flexibility to our network. Onboard, our updated interiors and seating configurations will help us deliver a more elevated and comfortable experience to travelers across every cabin class.”
He added that the delivery of 65 A350s in the coming years aligns with Emirates’ support for Dubai’s visionary D33 Strategy, aimed at positioning the city as a pivotal hub in the global economy through enhanced connectivity and global reach.
Phillipe Mhun, Executive Vice President Programmes & Services at Airbus, lauded the long-standing partnership with Emirates, which began nearly four decades ago with aircraft like the A300 and A380. He stated:
“We are proud to further expand our strategic partnership with Emirates. Marking a new chapter for Airbus, we expect the A350 to become an integral member of Emirates’ fleet and support its continued growth and sustainability ambitions.”
Echoing the sentiment, Omar Ali Adib, Senior Vice President Customer – Middle East and Africa at Rolls-Royce, commented on the collaborative effort behind the A350:
“With our £1 billion investment in durability across the Trent engine family, we are committed to excellence and building a long-term partnership that makes us all stronger.”
The addition of the A350 expands Emirates’ existing fleet of Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s, currently serving over 140 destinations globally. The A350’s versatility enables the airline to operate on a broader range of routes, including mid-sized airports unsuitable for larger aircraft.
The airline plans to operate two A350 versions tailored for regional and ultra-long-haul flights. Emirates’ first scheduled A350 commercial flight is set to launch on January 3, 2025, connecting Dubai with Edinburgh.
Following this, the A350 will be deployed to other destinations, including GCC cities like Bahrain and Muscat, European hubs such as Lyon and Bologna, and West Asian cities like Colombo and Mumbai. The airline also plans to announce additional long-haul destinations in 2025.
