Liquid Intelligent Technologies Partners with Globalstar to Bring High-Speed 5G Solutions to Africa, the Middle East, and the Gulf

Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with American connectivity leader Globalstar to deliver advanced 5G connectivity solutions across Africa, the Middle East, and the Gulf. This strategic collaboration is set to transform industries and boost digital transformation in the regions.

Strive Masiyiwa, the founder and Chairman of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the potential of 5G private networks in driving NextGen services like artificial intelligence (AI).

“With this technology, we are now able to provide services to large businesses like mines with their own 5G private networks that can also enable NextGen services like AI; this is huge,” said Masiyiwa.

Under this partnership, Liquid will hold exclusive rights to sell and distribute Globalstar’s XCOM RAN private networks 5G access solution in the Gulf, Middle East, and Africa.

The innovative technology is designed to enhance 5G connectivity, particularly for high-value environments such as the mining industry in Africa and high-end markets in the Middle East and Gulf regions. The XCOM RAN solution is engineered to support AI-driven applications, further revolutionizing these sectors.

Hardy Pemhiwa, President and Group CEO of Cassava Technologies, emphasized the significance of this collaboration. “We look forward to the opportunities this exclusive partnership with Globalstar will unfold for our existing and potential customers in these sectors. Globalstar’s unique 5G enterprise solution will enable us to provide unparalleled connectivity to our customers on the continent, aligning with our ambition of becoming a leading technology company of African heritage, empowering businesses and communities with the reliable and high-speed internet access needed to thrive in the digital age,” Pemhiwa stated.

As part of the agreement, Liquid will also offer comprehensive customer support, including technical assistance and warranty services for Globalstar’s products. The partnership includes the possibility of expanding to Globalstar’s satellite, Band n53 spectrum, and IoT solutions on a non-exclusive basis.

Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, CEO of Globalstar, shared his excitement about the partnership, noting the importance of the regions Liquid serves.

“The regions where Liquid is a leader are large and growing markets for our technologies which enable safe automation and remote control of mobile equipment in high-value environments,” said Jacobs.

He further highlighted that the combination of XCOM RAN with Globalstar’s globally licensed n53 midband spectrum creates a unique offering for private and enterprise 5G networks.
