President Hichilema Commits to Addressing Development Challenges in Muchinga Province
President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing longstanding development challenges during a meeting with traditional leaders from Muchinga Province in Chinsali this morning.
In a constructive dialogue, concerns about poor road networks and infrastructure deficits, which have plagued the province for over a decade, were raised by the traditional leaders.
Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, President Hichilema assured the gathered leaders that their concerns had been duly noted and that collaborative efforts would be made to tackle these challenges.
Reflecting on past promises of development trickling down, the President underscored the need for tangible action, rather than dwelling on past failures.
Furthermore, President Hichilema made a firm stance against corruption, calling on traditional leaders to join the fight against the misappropriation of public funds for personal gain.
Emphasizing individual accountability for corrupt practices, he emphasized that those found culpable would face legal consequences independently, without implicating their communities.
Expressing gratitude to the traditional leaders for their engagement, President Hichilema reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with all provinces to foster inclusive development.
He concluded by emphasizing national unity, stating, “Zambia shall remain one, and no one will be allowed to divide us for political expediency.”
