Minister Nzovu Inaugurates Finnish Honorary Consulate in Kitwe

KThe Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Hon. Eng. Collins Nzovu, officiated the opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of Finland in Kitwe, underscoring the importance of bilateral partnerships in various sectors between Zambia and Finland.

In his address, Hon. Nzovu highlighted the mutual learning opportunities between the two countries, especially in the mining and forestry sectors.

He emphasized the need for leveraging Finland’s expertise in forestry to benefit Zambia’s economic development.

Acknowledging Finland’s exemplary approach to responsible mining, Her Excellency Ms. Saana Halinen, the Finnish Ambassador to Zambia, expressed Finland’s commitment to supporting Zambia’s mining sector while emphasizing sustainable practices.

Furthermore, Ambassador Halinen emphasized the potential for collaboration beyond mining, noting Zambia’s commercial prospects in the forestry sector.

She emphasized the need for joint efforts to facilitate the entry of Finnish forestry companies into the Zambian market.
