ZAMMSA Receives Second Shipment of Health Centre Kits, Ensuring Steady Medical Supply
The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) is pleased to announce the arrival of the second consignment comprising 7,050 Health Centre Kits, underscoring our ongoing commitment to ensuring a consistent supply of medicines and medical supplies to all public health facilities.
In a statement issued by ZAMMSA Public Relations Officer Enoch Lusoke, ZAMMSA has received 14,100 Health Centre Kits this year as part of the initial procurement of 42,000 kits from Mission Pharma in India. These much-needed kits were received at the ZAMMSA central warehouse on September 27, 2023.
The distribution of these kits is scheduled to begin within a week, pending quality clearance from the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA). It’s worth noting that the first batch of 7,050 health kits, received in July 2023, was successfully distributed to over 3,000 public health facilities in just one month. Given our established distribution framework, we are confident of achieving a similar distribution timeframe for this batch.
The reception of these additional kits marks a significant step forward in their mission to enhance the availability of essential medicines and medical supplies within the Public Health Supply Chain. ZAMMSA remains resolute in their commitment to ensuring a stable supply of medicines and medical supplies.
ZAMMSA reassures the public of their unwavering dedication to efficient and timely procurement and distribution of medicines and medical supplies.
