Emirates and Air Canada Strengthen Codeshare Partnership, Enhancing Travel Connectivity

Emirates, the renowned Dubai-based airline, has announced the expansion of its codeshare collaboration with Air Canada, now encompassing flights to and from Montréal. This extension comes in the wake of Emirates’ recent launch of services to Montréal in July, offering customers a broader array of travel options and seamless connectivity.

The augmented codeshare partnership between Emirates and Air Canada grants travelers the convenience of planning journeys between 11 major domestic destinations linked to Montréal, all the while utilizing both airlines’ services on a single ticket. As part of this expansion, the codeshare network between the two carriers spans 11 points through Montréal, with an additional 69 points reachable from this gateway through an interline agreement.

Tickets for this expanded partnership can be obtained via emirates.com and favored travel agencies, providing passengers the flexibility and freedom to choose from a spectrum of smooth connections across Canada’s two largest cities. This is particularly beneficial for individuals traveling to or from locations such as Halifax, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Calgary, catering to a mix of leisure and business travelers, as well as those visiting friends and family.

Emirates’ network from Toronto extends even further, granting passengers access to 19 points with codeshare advantages, while an extra 100 destinations become accessible via an interline arrangement. With connections facilitated in Montréal or Toronto, Canadian travelers can easily access Emirates’ extensive global network spanning Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, leveraging the airline’s hub in Dubai.

Emirates offers a daily A380 service to Dubai from Toronto and operates seven weekly flights between Montréal and Dubai, using the Boeing 777. This diverse fleet enables passengers to craft their travel itineraries with seamless connectivity to international destinations.

For a hassle-free travel experience, passengers flying on Emirates’ flights can manage their entire trip with a single ticket, including the convenience of the airline’s baggage allowance. This also encompasses a streamlined process for baggage check-through to the final destination, enhancing the overall journey.

As part of this collaborative effort, members of Emirates’ frequent flyer program, Emirates Skywards, will enjoy the privilege of earning and redeeming miles on flights operated by both Emirates and Air Canada, adding a layer of value to the partnership.

It’s important to note that while baggage check-through is applicable for travel originating from Canada, international travelers heading to Canadian destinations are required to clear their baggage with Canadian Customs at their initial point of entry, whether it be Toronto or Montréal.

The expansion of this codeshare partnership underscores Emirates and Air Canada’s commitment to offering enhanced travel experiences, seamless connectivity, and extended options for globetrotters, ultimately enriching the travel landscape for passengers from both airlines.
