Zambian President Promises Improved Infrastructure and Opportunities During Kitwe Visit
In a series of engagements throughout Kitwe, Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema unveiled ambitious plans for infrastructure development and social progress, promising a brighter future for the region.
The day began with the commissioning of 30 boreholes to address water scarcity in the district. Speaking to students at Copperbelt University (CBU), President Hichilema assured them that the government was committed to providing essential resources, urging them to focus on their studies without worrying about water challenges.
Among the boreholes, one was specifically drilled within the campus premises, promising relief for students and faculty alike.
Following this, President Hichilema attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bulangililo Water Treatment Plant Expansion, a significant step toward enhancing water supply infrastructure in Kitwe. The expansion is poised to alleviate water scarcity issues and improve sanitation across the city.
In a landmark move for public health, over 1000 flushable toilets were commissioned in Kwacha Constituency, marking a historic moment as residents gain access to improved sanitation facilities previously unavailable in the area.
Addressing citizens in the Ndeke area, President Hichilema expressed gratitude for their support and emphasized the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises.
He attributed recent achievements, such as free education and increased employment opportunities, to the trust placed in his administration by the Zambian people during the 2021 elections.
President Hichilema reassured citizens that the government would continue to prioritize infrastructure development, job creation, and economic growth.
He pledged to revive the country’s mining sector, promising to create more business opportunities and jobs for Zambians across all sectors.
