Minister Mulenga Highlights Investment Opportunities at Lobito Corridor Private Sector Forum
Today, the Lobito Corridor Private Sector Investment Forum convened in Lusaka, drawing esteemed speakers including the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon. Chipoka Mulenga MP.
The event, held during a breakfast meeting, served as a platform to explore investment prospects within the Lobito Corridor Project.
Hon. Mulenga underscored the significance of the Lobito Corridor Project, emphasizing its potential to unlock investment opportunities across various sectors.
The project encompasses an extensive network of transport infrastructure, including roads, railway lines, airports, and the Port of Lobito, presenting a fertile ground for investment.
Speaking at the forum, Minister Mulenga highlighted key sectors ripe for investment within the corridor, including critical minerals, agriculture, logistics, and renewable energy.
He emphasized that the agricultural sector, in particular, stands to benefit from the abundance of arable land and favorable climatic conditions, offering promising opportunities for agribusiness ventures.
Moreover, Minister Mulenga emphasized the potential for value addition within the agricultural sector, both in food and non-food processed products, further amplifying the investment prospects within the corridor.
The Lobito Corridor Private Sector Investment Forum was officially inaugurated by Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering partnerships and driving economic development.
The event, organized by the Government of the Republic of Zambia, the Government of the United States of America, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Angola, and the Africa Finance Corporation, provided a crucial platform for stakeholders to deliberate on investment opportunities arising from the Lobito Corridor Project.
With a diverse range of sectors poised for growth and development, the forum served as a catalyst for collaboration and strategic investment initiatives aimed at harnessing the full potential of the Lobito Corridor.
