Tiwa Savage Files Petition Against Davido Over Alleged Threats to Life
Renowned Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwatope Omolara Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, has reportedly filed a petition against Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, also known as Davido. The petition, addressed to Lagos State Commissioner of Police Fayoade Adegoke, alleges threats to Tiwa Savage’s life following a social media post.
In the petition circulating online, Tiwa Savage claims that Davido threatened her in response to an Instagram post featuring herself and Sophia Momodu, Davido’s estranged baby mama. The post seemingly triggered a conflict, leading to an exchange of heated messages between the two artists.
Tiwa Savage has urged the police commissioner to hold Davido accountable for any potential harm, citing warnings she received through shared connections. The petition outlines Davido’s objections to the Instagram post, accusing Tiwa of taunting him and using derogatory language.
In her letter to the commissioner, Tiwa Savage wrote, “I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing situation involving myself, Tiwatope Omolara Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, and Mr David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.” She detailed the threatening messages and expressed concerns about possible online and offline harassment.
The conflict became public on January 6 when both artists reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram. Despite past friendship and shared experiences, the recent dispute has stirred interest and concern within the Nigerian entertainment community.
The unfolding situation highlights the challenges of maintaining public personas in the age of social media and the potential impact on personal relationships within the entertainment industry.
