Fibrecom, Smart Zambia Partner to Deliver High-Speed Internet at Expo
Fibrecom Limited has partnered with the Smart Zambia Institute to provide high-speed internet connectivity at the 2026 Luapula Investment, Trade and Tourism Exposition taking place in Mansa.
The company announced that it will deploy high-speed Wi-Fi zones and offer onsite technical support during the five-day event, scheduled from 20 to 24 April 2026 at Kaole Stadium.
As the official internet connectivity partner, Fibrecom has invested K287,000 in fibre infrastructure to ensure reliable and fast internet access across the Expo venue.
Fibrecom, a subsidiary of ZESCO Limited, operates a nationwide fibre network spanning approximately 15,000 kilometres, with coverage across all ten provinces of Zambia. The network is also interconnected to neighbouring countries including Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Angola, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
Speaking on the partnership, Fibrecom Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Nang’alelwa Sitwala, said digital connectivity plays a critical role in driving growth across key sectors such as tourism, agriculture, mining, energy and commerce.
“As an established network operator and leading ICT service provider, we recognise the importance of connectivity in unlocking economic opportunities in Luapula Province and beyond,” she said.
Eng. Sitwala added that the collaboration supports Government’s digital transformation agenda aimed at enhancing investment, trade and tourism.
“With hundreds of local and international investors, government agencies and trade delegations expected to attend, reliable connectivity will be essential in facilitating global business interactions during the Expo,” she said.
The Luapula Investment Expo, inaugurated in 2017, is organised by the Luapula Provincial Administration and has grown into one of Zambia’s key economic platforms for promoting investment opportunities.
This year’s edition is expected to attract a wide range of stakeholders and will be graced by President Hakainde Hichilema.
