Zamcargo Targets Growth with Expanded Logistics and Forwarding Services
Zambia Cargo and Logistics Limited (Zamcargo) has launched a strategic initiative aimed at expanding its clearing and forwarding services, as part of efforts to strengthen its role in facilitating trade and economic growth.
A delegation from the Zambia High Commission in Dar es Salaam recently visited Zambia, accompanying Zamcargo Chief Executive Officer on a services marketing mission targeting the private sector and the general public.
The initiative focused on showcasing Zamcargo’s capabilities in managing clearing and forwarding operations, while engaging key stakeholders to promote its services.
Zamcargo, a state-owned enterprise under the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), has undergone significant strategic repositioning in recent years. With continued government support, the company is positioning itself as a preferred service provider for both public and private sector import and export cargo.
Zambia’s Deputy High Commissioner to Tanzania, Mr Anthony Bwalya, emphasised the importance of collaboration between government and the private sector in driving economic development.
He noted that Zamcargo’s presence in Tanzania places it in a strong position to leverage institutional relationships in both countries to enhance service delivery across the import and export value chain.
Mr Bwalya added that the company aims to provide faster, more efficient and reliable logistics solutions, thereby strengthening trade linkages and supporting business growth.
He further expressed confidence in Zamcargo’s ability to contribute to local economic development, assuring stakeholders of continued support for the company’s growth initiatives.
