wCap Invests in Zambian Home Loans to Enhance Green Housing
wCap Limited has invested in Zambian Home Loans to expand access to affordable mortgages and promote sustainable housing development across Zambia.
The investment, announced in Lusaka on 10 April 2026, provides growth capital to support the expansion of Zambian Home Loans’ lending operations, with a strong focus on financing green and energy-efficient housing.
Zambian Home Loans operates in a sector widely regarded as critical to economic empowerment and wealth creation, yet access to mortgage financing remains limited for many citizens.
The new funding is expected to strengthen the company’s loan portfolio, particularly for properties built using sustainable construction methods such as energy-efficient designs, environmentally responsible materials and low-carbon building practices.
Chief Executive Officer Nfwama Chisola Mfula described the investment as a major step towards improving access to home ownership.
“This partnership gives us the capital and confidence to expand our reach and support more Zambian families. We are committed to ensuring that the homes we finance are not only affordable but also environmentally sustainable,” she said.
The partners at wCap noted that the investment aligns with the firm’s strategy of supporting businesses that address gaps in financial access while advancing sustainable development.
They added that housing plays a key role in building household wealth and economic stability, and that green construction represents the future of responsible urban development in Africa.
wCap specialises in providing structured financing solutions to early-stage and high-growth businesses across Zambia and Southern Africa, focusing on sectors that contribute to economic resilience and inclusive growth.
