Zambia’s Tourism Minister Attends Safari Club International Convention in US
Zambia’s Minister of Tourism, Rodney M. Sikumba, has arrived in Nashville, Tennessee, to participate in the Safari Club International (SCI) 54th Annual Hunters’ Convention, which runs from 18 to 21 February 2026.
The Minister, who is leading a Zambian delegation, was received on arrival by Zambia’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Chibamba Kanyama.
On the sidelines of the Convention, Mr Sikumba is expected to hold high-level bilateral meetings with international conservation partners, tourism industry leaders and wildlife management institutions.
The engagements are aimed at promoting Zambia’s tourism and wildlife sectors, strengthening strategic international partnerships and advancing sustainable conservation and wildlife management frameworks.
A key highlight of the Convention will see the Zambian Tourism Minister receive the Safari Club International International Legislator of the Year Award. The award recognises his leadership and contribution to the promotion of sustainable wildlife conservation policies in Zambia and across the African continent.
Zambia’s participation in the Convention underscores Government’s commitment to positioning the country as a leading global tourism destination and a responsible custodian of its wildlife resources.
The event also provides a strategic platform to enhance Zambia’s international visibility, attract investment into the tourism and wildlife sectors and reinforce the country’s leadership in sustainable conservation practices.
The Safari Club International Annual Hunters’ Convention is one of the world’s largest gatherings of conservationists, policy-makers and industry stakeholders focused on wildlife conservation, sustainable use and outdoor tourism.
