CAA Launches ISO 9001 Quality Management System Training

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has launched a five-day training on ISO 9001:2015 Understanding and Implementation, aimed at enhancing organisational efficiency, professionalism, and compliance with international quality standards.

Officiating on behalf of the CAA Director General, Director of Aerodromes Safety and Security, Eng. Nathan Kaluba, described the training as a “strategic necessity” for the Authority.

He emphasised that a robust Quality Management System (QMS) ensures standardised operations, improved accountability, reduced errors, and enhanced customer satisfaction.

Eng. Kaluba highlighted that the programme will equip staff with essential skills in process optimisation, documentation, risk management, and continual improvement, key elements required to align the CAA with both national and international best practices.

He urged participants to approach the training diligently, noting that they are “quality champions” responsible for driving QMS implementation across the Authority.

He also commended the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) for its continued collaboration. In response, ZABS trainer Mr Collins Siwale expressed gratitude to the CAA for organising the programme and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Authority’s quality initiatives.
