Emirates Takes Off with the World’s Largest Starlink-Equipped Fleet

Emirates is set to revolutionise inflight connectivity by deploying Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire in-service fleet, beginning with Boeing 777 aircraft this November and completing the rollout by mid-2027. The complimentary, ultra-fast service delivers ground-quality internet at cruising altitude, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to world-class passenger experiences.

The introduction of Starlink will allow passengers to stream, game, make calls, work, and browse social media on both seatback screens and personal devices simultaneously, providing seamless connectivity across all cabin classes. Emirates plans to equip its full fleet of 232 aircraft with Starlink over the next two years, including the world’s first Starlink-equipped Airbus A380, which will debut in early 2026.

The first Starlink-enabled Emirates commercial flight will depart shortly after the Dubai Airshow, where the Boeing 777-300ER A6-EPF on display is already fitted with the system, allowing visitors to experience the high-speed Wi-Fi firsthand. The airline aims to install Starlink on approximately 14 aircraft per month, with the A380 rollout commencing in February 2026.

Each Boeing 777 will feature two Starlink antennae, while the A380 will become the first aircraft in the world to host three, ensuring maximum connectivity, coverage, and capacity. Live TV over Starlink will also be available, initially on personal devices and, from late December 2025, on seatback screens. Access will be free for all passengers, with a simple one-click connection requiring no payment or Skywards membership.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, said: “Partnering with Starlink marks another milestone in our commitment to helping customers ‘fly better’. We are introducing the world’s fastest inflight Wi-Fi, enabling productivity, real-time communication, and uninterrupted connection to passengers’ digital lives. This is part of a wider fleet transformation, which includes new Premium Economy cabins, enhanced Business Class, refreshed First Class suites, and upgraded entertainment systems.”

Chad Gibbs, VP of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX, added: “With Starlink onboard Emirates flights, passengers can stream, game, and make seamless video calls just as they would on the ground. We are thrilled to enhance the travel experience while supporting the rapid installation across the fleet.”

The Starlink rollout complements Emirates’ ambitious retrofit programme, which has already refurbished 76 aircraft, introducing Premium Economy, redesigned Business Class, refreshed First Class suites, and elevated cabin finishes. Passengers also enjoy over 6,500 entertainment channels, the iconic A380 Onboard Lounge, and the First Class Shower Spa.
