Yango’s Free Trip Insurance Strengthens Safety and Assurance for Partner Drivers

Yango Ride, part of the global technology company Yango Group, has reinforced its commitment to the safety and wellbeing of partner drivers in Zambia through the provision of free trip insurance.

The initiative, which has been in place since February 2025, ensures that drivers, couriers, and passengers are protected during trips against accidents, injuries, and unforeseen incidents – all at no extra cost.

One beneficiary of the programme, Yango partner driver Emmanuel Bwembya, shared his experience following an unexpected incident. Having worked with Yango for two years, he expressed gratitude for the support received, noting that the compensation provided much-needed relief.

“The insurance helped me cover my medical expenses and made a real difference. I strongly encourage my fellow drivers to take advantage of this benefit. It’s free, and Yango truly came through for me,” he said.

Yango Zambia’s Country Head, Kabanda Chewe, underscored the importance of the initiative, highlighting the company’s prioritisation of safety.

“Our partner drivers are at the heart of our platform, and their safety is our priority. Offering free trip insurance gives drivers peace of mind so they can focus on their work, knowing they are covered in the unfortunate event of an accident. This initiative reflects Yango’s broader commitment to creating safe and reliable mobility solutions in Zambia,” said Chewe.

The programme is delivered in partnership with BestLife Insurance and provides cover for accidental injuries, medical expenses, permanent disability, and fatalities. Beyond insurance, Yango also invests in safety training and integrates multiple safety features within its application to ensure secure and dependable services for all users.
