Emirates Adds Third Daily Flight to Mauritius to Meet Growing Travel Demand
Emirates has announced the launch of a third daily flight to Mauritius, starting 1 December 2025, in response to growing demand and to support tourism and connectivity to the Indian Ocean destination. The new service, to be operated by a three-class Boeing 777-300ER, will increase seat capacity on the route by over 30%, further solidifying Emirates’ commitment to the country’s tourism and economic growth.
Currently, Emirates operates two daily flights to Mauritius aboard its flagship Airbus A380, serving as EK701/702 and EK703/704. The third service — EK709/710 — will complement the existing schedule and enhance travel options for customers from the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, and the Far East, including Japan, China, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
Under a codeshare partnership with Air Mauritius, the new flight will improve scheduling flexibility and promote seamless connectivity for travelers. Departing Dubai at 06:55 hrs, EK709 will arrive in Mauritius at 13:40 hrs, while the return flight, EK710, will depart Mauritius at 18:30 hrs, arriving in Dubai at 01:10 hrs the next day. All times are local.
Tickets for the third daily flight are already available for booking via emirates.com, the Emirates App, retail stores, customer service centres, and travel agents.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, expressed gratitude to Mauritian authorities for enabling the additional service. “Our double daily A380 services have been a major success and a key driver of tourism growth in Mauritius. This third flight on our wide-body Boeing 777 will offer even greater flexibility and connection options for leisure and business travelers.”
Kazim also highlighted the strategic value of Emirates’ partnership with Air Mauritius and the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA), which continues to attract global travellers to the destination. “The new daily service strengthens our partnership and ensures that both airlines can meet the rising global demand for travel to Mauritius,” he added.
Since launching flights to Mauritius in 2002, Emirates has carried more than 8.8 million passengers and transported over 126,000 tonnes of cargo. The airline’s operations have significantly contributed to the Mauritian economy — generating USD119 million in direct airline spending, USD264 million in tourism receipts, and USD530 million in tourism-related economic activity. Emirates has also supported the creation of 3,600 jobs in Mauritius, with hundreds of Mauritians employed by the airline in roles ranging from cabin crew to engineering and customer service.
With the upcoming third daily flight, Emirates will operate a total of 21 weekly flights between Dubai and Mauritius, further cementing its role as a vital connector and enabler of tourism, trade, and employment in the region.
