Standard Chartered Injects K3.4M into Africa Must Think 2025

Standard Chartered Bank Zambia has made history with a bold investment of K3.4 million into the highly anticipated 2025 Africa Must Think Conference, solidifying its position as lead sponsor for the transformative event.

The announcement was made during a handover ceremony at the bank’s headquarters, marking one of the largest corporate investments into a civic-led initiative in recent Zambian history.

The cheque was presented to DLN Institute, the powerhouse behind the Africa Must Think movement, led by celebrated entrepreneur and visionary, Dumisani L. Ncube, known as “The Radical Entrepreneur.”

Speaking at the event, Standard Chartered CEO Mr. Sonny Zulu emphasized the importance of empowering Africa’s next generation of leaders. “Young people must not wait for permission to lead. They must realize their potential and step into the roles of innovators, not just tomorrow, but today. Mindset is the beginning of every breakthrough,” he said.

The Africa Must Think Conference, scheduled for September 14, 2025, at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, promises to be more than just another gathering—it aims to ignite a continental movement. With a focus on bold thinking, entrepreneurship, and structural transformation, the event will bring together builders, risk-takers, and thought leaders from across the continent.

Dumisani L. Ncube described the partnership as a powerful demonstration of what happens when impact meets integrity. “This investment is not just in me or the conference. It’s in a mindset—one that sees African solutions born from African minds. Together, we are reshaping the continent’s entrepreneurial landscape,” he stated.

Standard Chartered Bank’s unwavering support over the past three years has positioned it as a key partner in fostering local innovation and economic transformation.

The 2025 conference is expected to draw thousands of young changemakers, innovators, and business leaders, united under the banner: Africa Must Think.
