Zambia U20 Women Win COSAFA Championship
The Zambia Under-20 Women’s National Team has emerged victorious at the 2024 COSAFA Championship, adding another feather to the country’s football achievements.
The team sealed the title with a flawless performance, defeating Mozambique 1-0 in their final match of the round-robin tournament, ensuring a 100% winning record.
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga praised the team’s performance, calling it a testament to Zambia’s dominance in regional football.
“On behalf of my executive and the Zambian football community, I wish to congratulate the Zambia Under-20 team and the technical bench for this sweet victory,” Kamanga said.
Kamanga highlighted that the win comes on the heels of the Copper Queens’ COSAFA triumph and the Chipolopolo’s qualification for AFCON, all coinciding with Zambia’s 60th Independence anniversary.
He expressed confidence that the Under-17 girls and boys, set to compete in their respective COSAFA tournaments next month, would draw inspiration from these achievements.
