Zambian mining firm Mimosa Resources has secured US$3 million in investment for the development of its Kashime copper mine near Mkushi, Central Province. The funding, provided by Australian Stock Exchange-listed Zeta Resources, will support final feasibility studies and preparatory work at the mine.

Mimosa Executive Chairman Jordan Soko expressed confidence in the project, stating, “Zeta’s investment underscores its belief in Mimosa’s potential and the local expertise driving the Kashime project.” He emphasized the mine’s role in advancing Zambia’s ambition to achieve 3 million tonnes of copper production annually.

In addition to developing the Kashime mine, Mimosa seeks to foster Zambian-owned mining ventures, leveraging partnerships and its investor network.

Zeta’s US$3 million marks its first investment in Zambia and signals optimism in Mimosa’s ability to drive economic growth while supporting local communities.

Mimosa Resources, founded by Zambian professionals, aims to create a world-class mining operation and contribute to the development of local skills and businesses.
