ZAMMSA Begins Disbursement of K450 Million to Pharmaceutical Suppliers

The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has initiated the payment of K450 million to suppliers who provided essential medicines between April and July 2024.

This significant step comes after delays caused by structural changes within the Agency, following investigations into the marooning of 61 containers at a Makeni depot.

The release of funds is anticipated to invigorate the local pharmaceutical industry and positively impact the economy.

ZAMMSA’s commitment to supporting local businesses remains strong, with the payments expected to bolster economic growth and business confidence.

Bradley Chingobe, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at ZAMMSA, emphasized the Agency’s dedication to ensuring the stability and growth of Zambia’s healthcare supply chain.
