Deputy Mayor of Lusaka Seeks Partnership with Peace and Culture Organizations
Her Honor, the Deputy Mayor of Lusaka, Ms. Ketty Nanyangwe, has expressed the Local Authority’s intention to partner with organizations dedicated to promoting peace and cultural values.
This initiative aims to address the rising challenges of substance abuse among the city’s youth, which has led to an increase in crime and disrupted peace in the community.
Ms. Nanyangwe emphasized the importance of embedding cultural norms and peace within communities during a meeting with representatives from the Korean Non-Profit organization, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL).
The Deputy Mayor highlighted that the current social issues faced by Lusaka necessitate strong partnerships focused on fostering peace and cultural awareness.
HWPL Dispatcher Lead, Ms. Liliya Lee, thanked Ms. Nanyangwe for her dedication to upholding peace and cultural values. Ms. Lee affirmed HWPL’s readiness to collaborate with the Lusaka City Council (LCC) in promoting social cohesion both within Lusaka and across Zambia.
