Liquid Intelligent Technologies and Eutelsat Group Partner to Bring High-Speed Satellite Services to Africa
Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a pan-African technology group, and Eutelsat Group, the world’s first combined geostationary (GEO) and low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite operator, announced a landmark partnership today. This agreement will bring enterprise-grade LEO satellite services to businesses across Africa.
“Liquid is dedicated to driving technological innovation in Africa,” said Ahmed El Beheiry, CEO of Liquid Intelligent Technologies. “Our collaboration with Eutelsat marks a significant step forward in providing cutting-edge LEO services to our customers across the continent. This will empower them with high-speed solutions and unlock new possibilities for connectivity.”
Philippe Baudrier, VP Connectivity, Africa for Eutelsat Group, echoed this sentiment. “We’re excited to partner with Liquid to introduce new connectivity solutions throughout Africa,” he said. “Their proven track record and commitment to connecting African businesses make them the perfect partner. Together, leveraging Eutelsat’s innovative LEO services, we can create new opportunities for enterprises and communities. We’re particularly focused on the positive impact this can have on the mining industry in Central Africa.”
This partnership hinges on the integration of the OneWeb LEO satellite network with Liquid Dataport’s core infrastructure. This will provide not only low-latency satellite services but also seamless integration across both networks.
“The OneWeb LEO satellites represent a game-changer in satellite technology,” said Angela Chandy, Executive Head of PR & Corporate Communications at Liquid Intelligent Technologies. “They offer lower latency, faster orbital periods, and higher bandwidth compared to traditional satellite options.”
For African businesses, this translates to significant improvements for applications like cloud computing, video conferencing, and real-time data exchange. Ms. Chandy said that beyond these core offerings, Liquid Dataport will also provide enterprise access with internet breakout and point-to-point services, catering to a wide range of business needs.
The expanded reach of Liquid Dataport, combined with Eutelsat’s expertise, will create a one-stop shop for businesses seeking a variety of connectivity and technology solutions, Chandy said.
Looking ahead, Ms. Chandy said that Liquid Dataport plans to strategically expand its services in tandem with Eutelsat’s growing OneWeb network coverage. This will address the rising demand for low-latency primary and backup connectivity solutions in remote areas, benefiting businesses across various sectors.
She said that the partnership also anticipates the expected surge in LEO satellite constellations, ensuring Liquid Intelligent Technologies is well-positioned to offer agile and cost-effective solutions for market entry and expansion.
For Liquid Intelligent Technologies, this collaboration is about more than just services. It’s about creating opportunities for businesses and communities across Africa, fostering progress and innovation throughout the continent, she further stated.
