Health Ministry Boosts Printing Capacity in Eastern and Southern Provinces

The Ministry of Health, with support from the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) under the Peace Health Programme funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida), has procured industrial printers to strengthen high-volume quality printing within the health sector.

The printers have been deployed to the Eastern and Southern Provincial Health Offices to enhance their capacity to produce essential health materials, including registers, health cards, brochures, booklets and other information, education and communication (IEC) materials.

This intervention is expected to improve efficiency in the production and distribution of critical documents required for effective health service delivery.

To support the optimal use of the equipment, CHAI, with additional funding from the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC), is providing technical assistance alongside printing materials and consumables to the two provincial health offices.

The printers will be used to produce key documents such as facility registers, maternal and child health cards, and health education materials, which play a vital role in strengthening data management, improving health education, and supporting service delivery at health facility level.

As part of the initiative, officials from the Ministry of Health and CHAI paid a courtesy call on Eastern Province Provincial Health Director, Dr Ngambi, to brief provincial leadership on the intervention and reaffirm continued collaboration in strengthening provincial health systems.

Dr Ngambi welcomed the support, stating that the investment in printing capacity would significantly improve the timely production and availability of essential health materials.

“This support will go a long way in strengthening service delivery at facility level, particularly by ensuring that health workers and communities have access to accurate and locally relevant information,” Dr Ngambi said.
