Intent HQ, Absa Bank and BEES Confirmed as Sponsors for Converge Africa 2026

Converge Africa 2026 has confirmed Intent HQ as its Diamond Sponsor, with Absa Bank joining as Platinum Sponsor and BEES announced as Gold Sponsor, reinforcing strong industry backing for Africa’s leading digital commerce event.

The three-day conference will take place from 4 to 6 May 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), bringing together Africa’s top players in digital commerce, fintech, retail technology and logistics to address the continent’s most pressing trade challenges.

Africa’s digital commerce economy continues to expand rapidly, driven by rising online shopping, mobile payments and the digitisation of informal retail. However, fragmented retail systems, inconsistent data, payment complexity, fraud risks and disconnected customer journeys are still limiting the ability of businesses to scale profitably.

Converge Africa 2026 will place these challenges at the centre of its agenda, focusing on how to build frictionless, borderless and trusted digital trade across the continent.

“Scaling digital commerce in Africa requires more than a single solution. It demands intelligence, infrastructure and execution working together,” said Terry Southam, Group Director of Retail at VUKA Group. “Converge Africa brings the full commerce stack into one room.”

The event will unite leaders across retail and eCommerce, digital marketing, payments and fintech, digital security, and fulfilment and last-mile logistics for three days of strategic discussions, technology showcases, hands-on workshops and structured networking aimed at delivering tangible return on investment.

As Diamond Sponsor, Intent HQ will showcase its Human to AI Context platform, IntentOne, which helps enterprises detect and act on real customer intent in real time while maintaining strict privacy and security standards. Live demonstrations at the event will highlight how retailers and marketplaces can improve personalisation, decision speed and customer engagement using responsible AI.

“We’re excited to return to Converge Africa to showcase our award-winning Agentic Customer AI,” said Jonathan Woolf, Chief Revenue Officer at Intent HQ. “By understanding behaviour and intent, we help brands deliver smarter, more inclusive digital services.”

Absa Bank’s role as Platinum Sponsor underscores the importance of secure, scalable payments in driving Africa’s digital commerce growth. The pan-African financial services group will share insights on cross-border payments, fraud prevention, embedded finance and omnichannel merchant services, all critical to building trust in online markets.

Gold Sponsor BEES will bring its global B2B digital commerce experience to the fore, demonstrating how technology can digitise fragmented retail networks. The platform connects FMCG brands with independent retailers, enabling ordering, payments, promotions and data-driven trade execution through a single app.

“BEES elevates every interaction with our retailers, from ordering to delivery,” a BEES representative said. “Powered by AI, it improves sales effectiveness, service delivery and overall performance.”

Converge Africa 2026 will address key pain points across the digital commerce ecosystem, including data integration, real-time marketing, payment security, fraud mitigation, and fulfilment efficiency, positioning the event as a catalyst for Africa’s next phase of digital trade.

Converge Africa is organised by VUKA Group and is held annually in Cape Town, serving as a premier platform for shaping the future of Africa’s online economy.
