His Excellency, Lieutenant General Dennis Sitali Alibuzwi (Rtd), Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to Brazil, has reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to advancing the African agenda during an address to the Group of Heads of African Missions in Brasília.
The group, comprising representatives from 35 African countries, is the largest diplomatic corps in Brazil. Speaking at his inaugural meeting, Ambassador Alibuzwi emphasised Zambia’s support for the African Union’s vision of a prosperous continent driven by inclusive growth and sustainable development.
“Through unified action and collaborative spirit, the group can amplify its collective influence and advance the interests of Africa in Brazil,” said Lt Gen Alibuzwi.
He highlighted Zambia’s dedication to African unity and integration, key pillars of the African Union’s development goals.
The Chairperson of the group, His Excellency Martin Mbeng, who is also Cameroon’s Ambassador to Brazil, welcomed Lt Gen Alibuzwi, noting that his experience in defence and security would bring significant value to the group.
He encouraged the new Ambassador to contribute freely to the group’s agenda, which is grounded in Pan-African ideals and the vision of an African Renaissance.
The meeting also welcomed the newly appointed Ambassadors of Senegal, Ms Marie Gnama Bassène, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ms Rosette Mosi Nyamale, to Brazil.
