Five Senior Executives Appointed as Emirates Charts Next Era of Growth
Emirates Airline has strengthened its commercial leadership team with five senior appointments, including two key roles filled by Emirati nationals, as the carrier positions itself for its next phase of growth.
The appointments include the newly created roles of Senior Vice President, Network Passenger Sales Development (NPSD), and Vice President for Passenger Sales – Regional Clusters, which aim to drive integrated performance across markets, expand regional growth, and foster strategic corporate relationships to boost passenger numbers, market share, and revenue.

Commercial Appointments:
- Matthew Scott has been appointed Senior Vice President, NPSD, overseeing Emirates’ Global Sales & Leisure teams. Matthew joined Emirates SkyCargo in 2018 and brings over 20 years’ experience in passenger commercial operations, revenue optimisation, and strategic planning.
- Abdulla Al Olama has been promoted to Vice President, Regional Clusters for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Abdulla joined Emirates in 2012 and has extensive experience across Interline, Codeshare, and Revenue Optimisation teams.
- Rashid Alardha becomes Vice President, Regional Clusters Sub-Saharan Africa. Since joining Emirates in 2009, Rashid has held multiple country management roles across the Middle East, Africa, Far East, West Asia, and Indian Ocean.
- Flavio Ghiringhelli has been appointed Vice President, Regional Clusters for South and Central Europe. Flavio joined Emirates in 2018 as Country Manager Italy and brings broad senior leadership experience across aviation, hospitality, and tourism sectors.
- Pierfrancesco Carino will join Emirates later this month as Vice President, Regional Clusters for West and North Europe. He has over 20 years’ experience in sales, marketing, revenue management, and strategic partnerships, having previously worked with Emirates in France.
Nabil Sultan, Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales and Country Management, will lead the new teams and oversee the commercial structure, ensuring a streamlined approach to regional and global growth strategies.
These appointments underline Emirates’ focus on strengthening its commercial capabilities, cultivating Emirati leadership talent, and consolidating its position as a leading airline for global travellers.
