CIM and ZIM Partnership Sets Global Benchmark for Marketing Excellence

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) have announced a strategic partnership to advance the marketing profession in both the United Kingdom and Zambia. The alliance aims to enhance professional development opportunities, harmonise qualifications, and foster collaboration between marketers across the two regions.

Commencing in June 2025, the partnership will see CIM and ZIM jointly design programmes to support the development and mobility of marketing professionals. Both organisations will promote aligned pathways for membership, enabling marketers to gain recognition and, where applicable, receive exemptions from qualifications offered by either institution.

As part of the collaboration, CIM and ZIM will explore synergies between their respective academy awards through curriculum mapping exercises, creating opportunities to recognise professional excellence and establish clear pathways to qualifications.

The partnership also includes the formal adoption of CIM’s Global Professional Marketing Framework (GPMF) by ZIM, which sets global standards for marketing competence and professionalism.

Full-time marketing students in Zambia will benefit from access to CIM’s Marketing Club, an international community offering resources, insights, and networking opportunities to support career development and enhance employability in the marketing sector.

Commenting on the partnership, Chris Daly, Chief Executive of CIM, said: “We are pleased to announce our alliance with the Zambia Institute of Marketing, reaffirming our commitment to promoting excellence and best practices in marketing globally. This partnership will support marketers at every stage of their career, providing opportunities to reskill, upskill, and engage with an international professional community.”

Danny Chanda, CEO of ZIM, added: “We are proud to secure this partnership with CIM, which will greatly benefit aspiring and professional marketers in Zambia. By adopting the GPMF and sharing knowledge, research, and innovative ideas, we are advancing the marketing profession and creating clear pathways for qualifications and professional growth.”

The partnership will also see ZIM collaborate with CIM on research dissemination and events that support the interests of both organisations. Together, CIM and ZIM aim to build a robust framework for marketing excellence, providing professionals with the tools, recognition, and networks needed to thrive in an evolving industry.
