KCM Pledges Over K2 Million to Support Ngoma Awards
Konkola Copper Mines Plc (KCM) has announced a sponsorship of $100,000 (approximately K2 million) for the 2024 Ngoma Awards, underscoring its commitment to fostering local talent and preserving Zambia’s cultural heritage.
KCM’s Director of Corporate Communications, Masuzyo Ndhlovu, emphasized the mining company’s recognition of the arts’ pivotal role in shaping Zambia’s identity.
“KCM stands as a partner for progress, acting as a catalyst for sustainable development and social responsibility,” he said. “Our support for the Ngoma Awards represents a strategic investment in Zambia’s future, fostering creativity and innovation.”
Ndhlovu highlighted that KCM’s support this year aligns with Zambia’s 60th independence anniversary, showcasing the company’s dedication to excellence and cultural enrichment.
He also urged the Ngoma Awards Organising Committee to present an unforgettable showcase in December, celebrating Zambia’s rich talent, diversity, and artistic achievements.
The company expressed appreciation for key partners, including the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, the National Arts Council of Zambia, and Vedanta Resources, who have supported the initiative.
