Mposha Urges NDA to Boost Climate Fund Mobilization
Zambia’s Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Hon. Mike Elton Mposha, has called on the National Designated Authority (NDA) to enhance efforts in mobilizing funds to help Zambians mitigate and adapt to climate change.
During a familiarization tour of the NDA offices in Lusaka, Hon. Mposha emphasized the importance of securing funding from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Adaptation Fund (AF) through well-structured projects.
He highlighted the critical need to support small-scale farmers, enabling them to overcome the challenges posed by climate change and contribute to Zambia’s food security.
Mposha, recently elected as Vice-President of the United Nations Environment Assembly’s Seventh Session, praised the NDA’s achievements under the SCRALA project.
He urged them to continue empowering communities, particularly small-scale farmers, to build resilience against droughts and other climate challenges.
NDA National Coordinator Billy Katontoka reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to aligning climate projects with Zambia’s development priorities, focusing on sustainable growth and climate adaptation initiatives.
